Asian Comedy Night in San Jose
Posted inSAN JOSE — Contemporary Asian Theater Scene (CATS) will presents its eighth annual Asian Comedy Night on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7 and 9 p.m. at Le Petit Trianon, 72 N. 5th St. in San Jose.
This event has developed a following because of the hilarious, profane and irreverent comedians that have performed, and this year is no exception. The lineup is as follows:
• Kevin Shea, a rising star with a fresh, laid-back style. His credits include Comedy Central, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and the very cool "Kims of Comedy" touring team. After a stint in high tech, his Korean roots destined him to a life of comedy. Check out kevinshea.tv.
• Hasan Minhaj, who recently won Wild 94.9FM Comedy Jam's "Best Comic Standing" to add to his former title of Mr. India West Coast. Need to see this? Look to hasanminhaj.com.
• Joe Nguyen, a new talent who shares his unique brand of Jewish-Vietnamese life — not jaded, just like it is.
Tickets are $20 general, $30 for VIP seats (front-center rows) and $40 for on-stage seats. Visit brownpapertickets.com to purchase tickets. For groups of 10 or more, call the CATS office at (408) 298-2287.
Note: Both shows feature material appropriate for mature audiences only.
