Sogetsu San Francisco Bay Area announces the return of Sogetsu ArtScape for 2008.

The exhibition of Sogetsu ikebana will be presented on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 27-28, at the San Francisco County Fair Building, 9th Avenue and Lincoln Way in Golden Gate Park.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days, with demonstrations at 12 noon and 2 p.m. Admission is free.

The goal of Sogetsu ArtScape is to provide the public with a rich display of the various styles, techniques and materials used in Sogetsu ikebana around the world. These unique works of floral art will be on view in both indoor and outdoor settings.

“Please take this opportunity to explore a fascinating part of Japanese culture and to enjoy the beautiful and refreshing art of Japanese flower arranging known as Sogetsu ikebana,” said a spokesperson for the Bay Area branch.

Parking is available at the Concourse Garage. The venue is also accessible by Muni (www.sfmta.com).
